📲Setup & Installation
How do I install an eSIM on my iPhone?Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code, then scan the QR code from your Movia confirmation email. Installation takes under 2 minutes and you can do it before your trip.→How do I install an eSIM on an Android phone?Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM (or Download a SIM instead), then scan the Movia QR code. Exact menu names vary by brand, but the flow is the same on Samsung, Google Pixel, and most Android phones.→
🛠️Troubleshooting
My eSIM won't connect to the internet. How do I fix it?In almost every case the fix is one of three things: turn ON Data Roaming for the Movia line, set the Movia eSIM as your mobile data line, and confirm the APN is correct. Toggling Airplane Mode for 10 seconds forces a fresh network search.→Do I need to turn on data roaming for my eSIM?Yes. A travel eSIM connects to a local partner network as a roaming guest, so Data Roaming must be ON for the Movia line. Because your plan is prepaid, enabling roaming will not generate any extra charges.→How do I set the APN for my eSIM?Most Movia eSIMs configure the APN automatically. If data still won't work, add the APN listed in your confirmation email under Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network (iPhone) or Settings → SIMs → Access Point Names (Android).→I accidentally deleted my eSIM — can I get it back?A deleted eSIM cannot be re-scanned or reinstalled, because the QR code is single-use. Never delete an active eSIM. If it happened, contact Movia support right away — depending on the supplier we may be able to re-issue it.→Why Your eSIM Isn't Working: 5 Common Issues and How to Fix ThemIf your eSIM shows "No Service" abroad, it's almost never the eSIM itself — it's a setting. Check device support, enable the eSIM line, turn on Data Roaming, set the correct APN, and select the network manually. Most travelers are back online within minutes.→Pixel 8 eSIM Not Working? 9 Fixes You Should Try (2025 Guide)Bought a travel eSIM for your Google Pixel 8 but it shows "No Service"? In most cases it's a setting, not the eSIM. Enable the eSIM line, turn on Roaming, confirm the APN, select the network manually, reset network settings, update the OS, check dual-SIM priority, disable VPN/Private DNS, and try switching between 5G and 4G.→
📶Using your eSIM
Can I use my eSIM and my regular SIM at the same time?Yes. Modern phones are dual-SIM, so you can keep your home SIM active for calls and texts while using the Movia eSIM for data. Just set the Movia line as your default mobile data.→Can I share my eSIM data with other devices (hotspot)?Yes, tethering is supported on all Movia plans. Turn on Personal Hotspot (iPhone) or Wi-Fi Hotspot (Android) and make sure your phone is using the Movia eSIM for data. Your laptop or second phone then shares the plan.→What happens when my eSIM runs out of data?Data simply stops until you top up. You can either recharge the same eSIM (if the plan supports it) or buy a new Movia plan and install it alongside the old one — phones hold multiple eSIMs at once.→How do I check how much eSIM data I have left?Check your remaining balance on your Movia order page using the link in your confirmation email. You can also see rough usage in your phone's Settings → Cellular under the Movia line's data counter.→How to Use Tethering on Your Smartphone or Tablet: A Beginner's GuideTethering turns your phone into a Wi-Fi router so a laptop or tablet can share its data. On iPhone: Settings → Personal Hotspot → Allow Others to Join. On Android: Settings → Network & Internet → Hotspot & Tethering → Wi-Fi Hotspot. Watch out for higher data use and faster battery drain.→
🛒Before you buy
When does my eSIM data plan actually start?Your plan starts the moment your phone first connects to a network at your destination — not when you buy or install it. So you can safely install at home days before your trip; the validity countdown only begins on first connection.→Does my phone support eSIM?Most phones released since 2018 support eSIM and must be carrier-unlocked. This includes iPhone XS/XR and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Samsung Galaxy S/Note/Z models.
