eSIM GuidesBefore you buy

Does my phone support eSIM?

Quick answer

Most phones released since 2018 support eSIM and must be carrier-unlocked. This includes iPhone XS/XR and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Samsung Galaxy S/Note/Z models. Dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your phone has an eSIM.

Two things must be true: your phone has eSIM hardware, and it's carrier-unlocked (not locked to a single network). Here's how to check both.

Quick eSIM check

Dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID number appears alongside the IMEI, your device supports eSIM.

Common supported phones

  • iPhone XS, XR, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and newer.
  • Google Pixel 3 and newer.
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Z Flip/Fold, recent Note models.
If your phone is locked to a carrier, ask them to unlock it before installing a Movia eSIM.
